SUN Orthopaedic employs physician assistants to help provide
orthopaedic care to the patients in our community.
Physician assistants receive two additional years of medical
schooling after graduating from a 4-year college program,
must pass the certification process of the National Commission
on Certification of Physician Assistants, and must receive
a license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania State Board
of Medicine. In addition, they must maintain requirements
for continuing education and recredentialling by the NCCPA.
Once employed by SUN Orthopaedic, our Physician Assistants
are provided with 6-9 months of additional orthopaedic training
before treating patients in our office.
Physician Assistants are not physicians but an ancillary
provider who may perform the service required by the physician.
Patients do have the right to be treated by the physician
if the patient desires. |
